He has directed only three movies till now. Bengali movies - Bhooter Bhabishyat (2012) and Aschorjo Prodip (2013), and the remake of his own hit film on ghosts Bhooter Bhabishyat. The Bollywood film was made with the title, Gang of Ghosts in 2014.

Despite getting positive reviews from critics, the film was a box office failure.

Anik has been an independent film maker, associated with ad films and documentaries for 20 years before he moved to commercial feature films.  

Anik’s debut film Bhooter Bhobishyot was the only Bengali entry at the River to River 2012: Florence Indian Film Festival and was invited for a screening at Cannes.

The movie was a great critic and commercial success. He penned its script and lyrics as well. Bhooter Bhobishyot ran for three weeks in four multiplexes in Mumbai a
